I've just read "Why We Sleep" by Matthew Walker. He walks us through the latest research of the science of sleep ("and dreams") :-) Definitions; Why and How; Diseases and sleep disorders; Pain; Nutrition and eating disorders; Psychiatry and sleep; Accident risks according to sleep depravations; Teenagers different sleep patterns; Pills and drugs; Psychotherapy - and much more.... It's a brilliant piece of work! and as near as possible to an academic review, but still popular written.
